Name: Karla List Parra
Relationship: Carolina’s Friend
Likes: I like rainy days, I like the sea, I love movies... my favorite genres are drama and romance, one of my favorite movie is ‘P.S. I love you’, I've seen it so many times that I’ve lost count, the scene where she returns to sing karaoke because he asks her to do so in one of his letters, made me cry many times, in fact I think a curse came on me from this movie, now I am more sensitive and I cry more often. ‘My best friend's Wedding’ is also a classic in my life; do not stop saying what you feel, even when you're not chosen. I prefer sweet over salty, I could stop eating (because of diets) pastas and meats, but sweets and chocolates are always a temptation. I love music, I always know the new songs on the radio and I recognize almost immediately what song is playing. I also like dancing and if I want to keep dancing I’d rather take off my shoes than rest sitting down. I love animals, I love dogs, I have always had pets in my home, I am very respectful of animal life and an official member of Greenpeace, my heart breaks to see street dogs, so whenever I can, I try to adopt them or look for shelter for them. I hate to see people wasting water.
Catch Phrase: I do not have a famous phrase, when I hear or read something that I like I write it down to not forget it, what I quote below, I read it several years ago, and today it reminds me of a friend who died a year ago, she was one of the people with one of the most authentic spirit I've seemed in my life. "It is true, we will all have to leave, but what you do in life with strength and heart will remain forever" AEY. RIP
Nicknames: I have several nicknames ... but I cannot say them because they could be misunderstood no no .. sorry (even Carolina pushes me to say)
Herstory: I’m Karla, Carolina’s friend…(answering questions to describe oneself is a “little” complicated, but at the request of the best man of Carolina's future husband, I’ll make an effort)
I’ll begin telling about myself, I’m Poblana (from Puebla, Mexico). My city is rich in history and culture. Even after many years I enjoy walking through its streets and I’m continually amazed with its variety of traditions. At this time of year Puebla usually begins to feel cold, but thanks to global warming ... it's October and we seem to be in May.
But let’s go back to me, I'm 28 years and I am super single ... (in case someone was wondering) I studied Communications in Iberoamericana University (I met Caro there). University was a different time in my life as I was a student, I think it was in recent years when I finally grew up and became a responsible girl. Sometimes I’d like to be the old Karla again, even for a day, coming to exams without studying and praying for it to be multiple choice… that Karla ended up staying on the road ... and now I'm pretty responsible in my working life. I enjoyed my student life a lot. My best times and many of my best memories were in a classroom in my last two years of primary school, alongside other children I grew up with ... I learned the importance of teamwork: putting tacks on benches and watching the staircase to warn classmates when our teacher was approaching the classroom, there were always things that needed to get done with somebody else’s help. I’m currently working on a TV show production, don’t know how long I’ll be working there since it is not something that I want to do forever...but I am learning many new things and meeting new people as well, after several jobs ... I know what I want to do... and I hope it won’t take me too long.
Favorite Food: I like strong coffee, my favorite food is Japanese, but I also like pasta, cheese in almost all types as well.
What I know in English: I don’t speak English much, but after many Saturday courses and many summers studying English, I ended up liking it... (we will see that at the wedding)
Pet Peeve: As for dislikes, hmmm I only hate people wasting water, torture is not culture (even for that of bullfighting, which I also disagree) I do not like hypocritical people, I get lazy and don’t waste my time on them. I like meeting people who are able to surprise me, talks that last for hours, seeing old friends, seeing a sunset, walking on the wet grass, hanging out with people I love, writing, reading a good book ... enjoying the present ...an old friend inviting me to be one of her bridesmaids ... these things in life ...have no price...
